Current work program

The IGLAE will undertake a 3-year work review plan. The program of work will include reviews of:

  • Monitoring and reporting during livestock export voyages
  • Livestock export licensing and permits
  • Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System (ESCAS)
  • Livestock export approved arrangements

Background of the role

The IGLAE position was established as part of the Australian Government’s response to recommendations of the independent review of the regulatory capability and culture of the department in the regulation of live animal exports.

This review was conducted by Mr Philip Moss AM (September 2018).
